How long should a beginner meditate? Imagine that you are new to meditation. A friend of yours recently confided in you that she practices meditation and feels more whole as a result. You want to have the same experience because she talks about all the advantages to her body and mind.

You enquire of her about what a typical meditation session entails. She informs you that she schedules twice-daily sessions that last between 30 and 40 minutes each. You must think that is a very long time. It begs the question, How long should I meditate as a beginner?

While there isn’t really a hard answer for everyone, a specific number, you want to start with brief sessions initially. Meditation is frequently a challenging or strange process for beginners.

They might or might not have false preconceptions about meditation. You will need to gain some experience because this is a novel practice you are just starting. Since you’re just beginning, it might be difficult to follow a specific step-by-step meditation technique.

For each of the aforementioned reasons, aim for 5 to 10 minutes

To gain the benefits of meditation, it doesn’t actually take much time. In many instances, even as a beginner, you can feel a reduction in stress almost immediately. Stress relief will come quickly if you can meditate in a natural setting, like a grassy field.

Wherever you meditate, begin with a five-minute session. You can focus on relaxing your mind for 30 seconds by practicing deep breathing. then focus on your breathing for four minutes. Allow yourself to leave your meditative state and return to your surroundings for an additional 30 seconds.

Five minutes is a good place to start, but there is no right or wrong number. Eventually, you should work up to sessions lasting 10 and then 20 minutes. Everyone is unique. More than ten minutes of focused, uninterrupted meditation might be beyond your capacity. That’s okay.

Eventually, you’ll discover the length of your ideal session. The most important thing is to start. The majority of people discover that meditation has numerous transformative effects. It genuinely has the power to enhance both your physical and mental well-being. Gaining self-awareness will help you think more positively and experience less negativity. So start today by setting a five-minute time limit for yourself, and only increase it when you don’t feel like you’re pushing yourself.
